Light achieves Healthcare Identifiers (HI) Service conformance with the Australian Digital Health Agency

Light, Oexa’s clinical services platform for community pharmacy, has achieved Healthcare Identifiers (HI) Service conformance with the Australian Digital Health Agency – bringing verified national patient identity into pharmacy, and laying the foundation for prescribing and scope-of-practice consultations to connect properly with the rest of a patient’s care team.

Brisbane, Australia – 6 July 2026 – Oexa today announced that Light, its clinical services platform for community pharmacy, has achieved Healthcare Identifiers (HI) Service conformance with the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA). The HI Service is the national system that uniquely identifies patients, healthcare providers and healthcare organisations in Australia. It underpins electronic prescribing, the Active Script List, My Health Record and the broader national health ecosystem. Conformance is the ADHA’s formal verification that Light correctly implements interactions with the HI Service. In practice, when a pharmacist adds someone in Light – whether they’ve arrived via an online booking, a walk-in service, an off-site clinic, or come in for a script – Light now draws on the pharmacy’s own records, the Australian Immunisation Register and the Healthcare Identifiers Service to surface a verified record of who that person is. Today that means a verified patient identity, using the same national identifier used across Australia’s healthcare system. It also lays the foundation for pharmacy prescribing, scope-of-practice consultations and other clinical encounters to be shared properly with the rest of the patient’s care team – as Light’s integrations with electronic prescribing, the Active Script List and My Health Record come online. Mina Giang, Co-founder and Head of Product and Experience, says: “Healthcare Identifiers is foundational national infrastructure, and we’ve been working toward proper integration from day one. We’re proud to be among the first vendors to complete HI Service conformance through the ADHA’s new Digital Health Implementer Hub.” “For community pharmacy, this milestone is a step toward prescribing and scope-of-practice consultations being properly connected into the rest of the health system – supporting the expanded role pharmacists are increasingly playing.” About Light Light is the clinical services platform for community pharmacy owners ready to simplify workflows, grow services and deliver care with confidence.
